Helen Davison

Helen holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Literature and History and Postgraduate Diploma of Management Studies.  She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and is a fully registered teacher.  Helen has been enjoying teaching at Gumboots since 2008 and was involved as a parent prior to this in both Gumboots and playgroup. 

Outside of work Helen has a lifestyle block in Maraekakaho district together with her husband, Andy and two gorgeous children, Callum and Cora. Helen's favourite past time is hanging out with her family and dogs and going on caravan holiday adventures.

Helen is proud to be part of our wonderful teaching team in this unique, rural character centre and is passionate about the nurturing, creative, empowering environment that is created for the children of Gumboots.  Helen is also a self-confessed chocoholic and considers birthday cakes a major perk of the job.

Lindsay Averill

Lindsay graduated in 2002 and holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching and is a fully registered teacher. Lindsay has many  years of early childhood teaching experience both in the UK and New Zealand. She has been a valued member of the Gumboots team for well over a decade.

Lindsay married a Kiwi and moved from the UK to Maraekakaho where they manage a farm. Lindsay has three children Sebby, Zachary  and Greta.

Apart from spending her time at Gumboots, Lindsay is known to be found riding around the outdoors on her bike and her horses. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter at pony club.
